2023 'Il Bambino' Fiano
An ancient Italian variety , the Fiano VCR 3 clone vines were obtained through Chalmers Nursery in Merbein. Planted on the lower northern block at Brycefield, they have grown well despite a reputation for fragility. The clone seems to be very suited to the terroir. The current wine is from the first baby crop (Il Bambino) and typically has a bright floral nose and fresh complex flavours. The acid is well balanced and the vine is read to drink having settled it the bottle. It was a hit at the recent 2024 Brycefield Music Festival.
